Ranganna / Classes are held on Thursday evenings from 6.00pm to 8.30pm in St. Andrews National School , Church Road, Malahide. The 2026 Summer term commences on Thursday 16th April. Classes run through to 11th June 2026.
We welcome new joiners throughout the term – it is never too late to start with us !

We will be running our 6-week introduction to Trad program of classes in partnership with St. Sylvester’s GAA with support from DAA in September 2026
Outline Course Curriculum
- an chéad mhodúl – Fáilte roimh cheol:
Come into the world of Trad – understand it’s history, see and listen to the range of instruments and learn the dynamics of it’s sounds
- an dara modúl- Ag Rince
Introduction to the range of sub genres and evolutions in Irish dance; sean nós, set-dancing, step dancing, ceili dancing, brush dancing.
- an tríú modúl – Ag canadh
Learn some traditional and contemporary Irish songs and sing them together.
- an ceathrú modúl – Ceol a léamh
Learn the rudiments of music; key signatures, time signatures and how to read the notes to some pieces of music.
- An cúigiú Modúl – An Feadóg stáin
Introduction to play the Tin Whistle; 3 weeks of classes to develop each student’s ability in playing scales, one tune with single top hand, one tune with both hands.
- An séú Modúl – seisiún ceoil
Bringing everything learnt over the previous 7 weeks into a fun gathering of shared song, music making and dancing.
